Kick is growing fast — Adin Ross, xQc’s cross-streams, full-time Kick exclusives — but the ecosystem around it is young. That includes clip downloaders. Half the tools you’ll find from a Google search are broken, abandoned, or YouTube downloaders that pretend to handle Kick. Here’s what actually works in 2026.
Short version: use ZipClip’s free Kick Clip Downloader. That’s it. The rest of this post explains why, and what your options are if that ever goes down.
1 · ZipClip — Kick Clip Downloader
zipclip.app/tools/kick-clip-downloader
Paste the Kick clip URL, get a direct MP4 from Kick’s CDN. Source quality, no re-encoding, no watermark, no signup. Works with both clip URL formats (/clips/... and ?clip=).
Bonus: built to hand the downloaded clip directly into ZipClip’s AI reframe + captions pipeline for streamers who want to post to TikTok right after.
2 · yt-dlp (CLI)
Kick is supported by yt-dlp but the extractor has historically been flaky — Kick updates their playback URLs every few months and the extractor plays catch-up. On a good day, yt-dlp https://kick.com/CHANNEL/clips/CLIP_ID just works. On a bad day, you get a 403. Great as a fallback for CLI-fluent users.
3 · KickDownloader.com
Dedicated site, works most of the time. Ads are heavier than we’d like but tolerable. No VOD support — clips only. Fine as a backup when ZipClip’s rate limit resets.
4 · SaveKickClips
Newer tool, clean UI. Had reliability issues during our testing (500 errors on longer clips). Worth checking in a year.
5 · Browser dev-tools (manual)
Open the Kick clip in Chrome → DevTools → Network tab → filter for “.m3u8” or “.mp4” → right-click → Save. Works 100% of the time but takes 2 minutes per clip. Useful when every downloader is broken.
What to avoid
- “Universal” downloaders claiming Kick support. Most of them list Kick on the landing page but fall back to a generic yt-dlp call that’s out of date.
- Anything asking for a Kick login. No legitimate downloader needs your credentials.
- Browser extensions. “Kick Downloader” extensions have the same trust problem as YouTube downloader extensions — assume malicious until proven otherwise.
Why Kick downloads matter more than you’d think
Kick’s clip system is less mature than Twitch’s. The built-in “download” button missing on Kick is a real gap for streamers trying to repurpose their own content. If you’re a streamer who’s on Kick (or cross-streaming), you’ll download clips more often than your Twitch-only counterparts — just to get around the platform’s own limits.
Kick VOD → Shorts (the real workflow)
Downloading one clip is rarely the endgame. Streamers on Kick want daily Shorts from last night’s broadcast. ZipClip’s main product ingests a full Kick VOD, identifies the top 10–20 clip-worthy moments (hype peaks, reactions, funny beats, raids), auto-reframes each to 9:16 with face-tracking, and adds captions. From VOD URL to a folder of ready-to-post TikTok clips takes about 20 minutes — entirely hands-off. .
TL;DR
One clip, zero friction: ZipClip Kick Clip Downloader. Full VODs into shorts: ZipClip main product. Backup for when everything’s down: yt-dlp CLI or Chrome devtools.
